Arrives Udupi. Upon arrival, sightseeing of Udupi starts. First, you are going to visit the famous the Lord Krishna Temple. Udupi is also famous for its cuisine that you can have any time during the day. You will also come across several white sand beaches since it is a coastal town.

SRI KRISHNA TEMPLE:

The Sri Krishna Temple, also referred as Shri Krishna Math, was founded in the 13th century by Sri Madhavacharya, a Vaishnavite saint. He was the founder of the Dvaita school of Vedanta. The temple has the idol of Lord Krishna adorned with jewels. It is one of the most ancient shrines made of wood and stone dating back to 1,500 years. Hindu festivals Janamashthami is celebrated in grand scale here.

The main attraction of this temple is that there is no front door to get in. Instead there is a window with nine holes called Navagraha Kitiki, from where the Lord is viewed and worshipped. The window is intricately carved and silver plated.

MALPE BEACH and St. MARY’S ISLAND:

Malpe beach is a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the cities that offers breathtaking view of the blue ocean. It is the long and Golden Sandy Coast Line with Clean Blue Sky with the Ripple of the Sea where one can stroll around in Peace. It is a must see place. Malpe is also termed as a virgin beach as its beauty remains untouched and intact.

The St. Marys Island is a travelers delight. This is a small island a short boat ride away from Malpe. The boat ride to the island in the ocean is an experience in itself. St.Mary’s is a quiet and largely empty island with some sandy and rocky shoreline. It has curious rock formations along its shore worth seeing. A quiet evening at the sea shore in the island is an experience worth looking up to.
