Day Trip to Sundarbans
KOLKATA – SUNDARBANS (3 HRS)
Pick up from your hotel in Kolkata and drive towards Sundarbans National Park. Sundarbans port is 117 km from Kolkata. It takes 3 hours 30 minutes to reach Sundarbans Forest. Upon arrival , enjoy day trip to Sundarbans.
ARRIVES SUNDARBANS FOREST
Arrives Godkhali, which is a last road point to Sundarbans Forest. Board a boat to sail through the vast Forest of Sundarbans. Breakfast is served on board.
Day Cruise Through Sundarbans Mangroves
Once arrived at Godkhali, board a boat and go for boat cruise sailing down through the Hooghly fringes, the world’s largest deltas, The Sundarbans. It is a sacred island where the Ganges meets the sea that forms thousands of deltas and islets. Sundarbans forest is the world’s largest mangrove; spread over a 10,000 square kilometer expanse, out of 60 % is in Bangladesh and remaining part in India. Sundarban is a natural abode of world’s largest population of tigers, numerous crocodiles, snakes and deer. It is also an UNESCO world heritage site.
We will be sailing through the vast Sundarbans forest to explore the largest mangroves and its rich flora and fauna. You can spot differentwildlife including deer, wild boars, civet cat, monitor lizard, crocodiles, dolphins and the most significance the Royal Bengal Tiger while cruising.
LUNCH ON BOARD
Lunch will be served on board.
There are three watch towers namely, Sajnekhali, Sundhanyakhali and Dobanki. You will be taken to visit one of the watch towers preferably Sajnekhali overlooking the Sundarbans and the crocodile park. Cruising goes on till sunset.
RETURN TO KOLKATA
Sailing back to the disembarkation point at Godkhali. Upon arrival, take the car and drive back to Kolkata.
ARRIVES KOLKATA
Arrives Kolkata by 10:00 PM. Upon arrival, drop at your hotel.
