06:00 AM – BANGALORE - HASSAN
Start your day early for a smooth drive, as it takes about 3.5 to 4 hours to reach Hassan from Bangalore (around 180 km). You may want to stop for a quick breakfast along the Bangalore-Tumkur Highway or pack some light snacks for the journey.

09:30 AM – ARRIVES HASSAN
Upon reaching Hassan, start your day by visiting the Hasanamba Temple, if it’s open. The temple is only accessible for a week each year (usually October-November) during the Hasanamba festival.

09:45 AM - 10:30 PM VISIT HASANAMBA TEMPLE (If Open)
This unique temple, dedicated to Goddess Hasanamba, is one of the main attractions in Hassan and opens only once a year.

TEMPLE HIGHLIGHTS:
Witness the special pooja rituals and offer prayers to the goddess if you happen to visit during the festival period.

ATMOSPHERE:
The temple, believed to be self-manifested, exudes a powerful and sacred ambiance, attracting thousands of devotees during its annual opening.

NOTE: If the temple is closed, proceed to the next stop at Gorur Dam.

10:45 PM - 11:30 PM VISIT GORUR DAM
Head to Gorur Dam, located on the Hemavathi River, about 20 km from Hassan. This spot offers serene views and a peaceful environment.

DAM VIEWS:
Walk along the dam to enjoy scenic views of the river and surrounding greenery, especially beautiful after the monsoon season.

PHOTOGRAPHY OPPORTUNITY : Capture panoramic shots of the lush landscape and the river flowing from the dam.

12:00 PM - 12:45 PM VISIT SHETTIHALLI CHURCH
Drive to the Shettihalli Rosary Church, a unique, partially submerged church located about 20 km from Hassan.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
Built by French missionaries in the 1860s, this Gothic-style church is now partially submerged due to the Hemavathi Dam, giving it a mystical, haunting beauty.

BEST FOR PHOTOS:
If visiting during the monsoon season, the church’s flooded structure provides striking views as it rises from the water. In drier months, you can explore more of the church’s ruins.

01:00 PM - 02:00 PM LUNCH IN HASSAN
Head back to Hassan town for lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoy authentic Karnataka cuisine, such as ragi mudde, bisi bele bath, or a traditional South Indian thali at one of the well-rated eateries.

02:00 PM - 02:45 PM VISIT CHENNAKESAVA TEMPLE IN BELUR
After lunch, drive to Belur (about 40 minutes away) to visit the Chennakesava Temple, an architectural gem of the Hoysala period.

TEMPLE HIGHLIGHTS:
Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this 12th-century temple is renowned for its intricate sculptures and star-shaped platform.

ICONIC SCULPTURES:
Marvel at the famed Darpana Sundari (Lady with a Mirror) and other life-like carvings on the temple walls, including mythological scenes, celestial dancers, and musicians.

03:00 PM TO 04:00 PM VISIT HOYSALESWARA TEMPLE IN HALEBIDU
After Belur, proceed to Halebidu, which is about 15 km away, to visit the Hoysaleswara Temple, a prominent example of Hoysala architecture.

This temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is known for its complex carvings and dual shrines, each with a beautifully sculpted Nandi (bull).
