Reach Halebidu and head straight to the Hoysaleswara Temple complex, which is the primary attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
EXPLORE HOYSALESWARA TEMPLE
Spend a good amount of time at the Hoysaleswara Temple, known for its intricate architecture and exquisite stone carvings. Built in the 12th century by the Hoysala rulers, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and displays a unique star-shaped layout.
Must-See Highlights:
The exterior wall panels adorned with scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Bhagavad Gita are incredibly detailed, showing the finesse of Hoysala craftsmanship.

A short distance from Hoysaleswara Temple, the Kedareshwara Temple offers a more peaceful atmosphere and equally impressive architecture.

The Chennakesava Temple in Belur is another Hoysala masterpiece and one of Karnataka’s most famous temples.
Temple Architecture:
Built over a century by various Hoysala kings, this temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The main sanctum is richly adorned with sculpted panels showcasing various deities, animals, and mythological figures.
Darpana Sundari (Lady with a Mirror):
